Salt Lake City, Utah. January 13,
2004 - BioMicro Systems, Inc., announced today the appointment
of Stephen Blose, V.M.D., Ph.D., to the company's Board
of Directors. Dr. Blose was previously the Division
General Manager of Imaging Products, at Bio-Rad Laboratories
Inc. where he lead the development of DNA/protein microarray
systems; liquid protein array (Bio-Plex) systems; and
bioinformatics, proteomics, and molecular imaging systems.
He was also in charge of R&D, manufacturing, global
marketing, and acquisitions for the division. Prior
to Bio-Rad, Dr. Blose was Chief Executive Officer of
Protein Databases, Inc., a company providing systems
and services for the global proteomics market. He came
to Protein Databases from the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory
NY, where he was a Senior Scientist working for Dr.
James D. Watson, Nobel Laureate (co-discoverer of DNA).
