BioMicro Systems Launches the All-New MAUI Wash System for Processing Microarray Slides Post Hybridization at the American Society of Human Genetics 57th Annual Meeting

October 24, 2007 – Salt Lake City, Utah –BioMicro® Systems Inc. launches the all-new MAUI® Wash System for microarray processing post hybridization at the American Society of Human Genetics 57th Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA on October 23-27, 2007. The MAUI Wash System automatically washes and dries up to 12 microarray slides simultaneously accommodating many protocols. The MAUI Wash System is the latest product addition to the market leading MAUI portfolio that includes the best-selling MAUI Hybridization Systems and MAUI Mixer Hybridization Chambers.

The MAUI Wash System automates post-hybridization wash protocols to significantly reduce the variability of results obtained compared to manual processing. This instrument fits seamlessly in the workflow of mid-to-high-throughput laboratories requiring the best microarray data.

BioMicro Systems designed the MAUI Wash System to be easy to use. In four simple steps researchers attain ready-to-scan microarray slides. The steps consist of loading up to twelve slides into the uniquely designed slide carrier, placing the slide carrier into the MAUI Wash System, and selecting a pre-programmed wash/dry protocol. Once the instrument completes the protocol, the user moves the clean, dry slides directly to a scanner. The MAUI Wash System ideally works in conjunction with the MAUI 12-Bay System to quickly process multiple microarrays and garner optimal data results.

“We are excited about new MAUI Wash System that delivers pristine microarray slides ideal for scanning. It is a natural extension of the MAUI product line that is already proven to significantly improve the data quality of microarray experiments,” stated Michael Feldman, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of BioMicro Systems. “BioMicro Systems continues to expand our product offerings to target the stringent researcher who demands consistent, high-quality microarray data results every time.”

MAUI Wash System Key Features and Benefits:

  1. Automated washing and drying of up to 12 microarray slides
  2. Consistent and reproducible results
  3. Built-in buffer heating capability
  4. Flexible and intuitive multi-protocol programming
  5. Slides protected from ambient light and ozone throughout wash process

The MAUI Wash System will be on display at the BioMicro Systems Booth #1131 at the American Society of Human Genetics 57th Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA from October 23-27, 2007. In addition, MAUI Wash System performance data along with MAUI Hybridization System data will be presented at a workshop entitled, “An Array CGH Triple Play” sponsored by BioMicro Systems, Molecular Devices and Invitrogen on October 24, 2007.
