Invitrogen adopts BioMicro’s MAUI Hybridization System.

Salt Lake City, UT – August 22, 2006
- BioMicro® Systems, Inc. announced today that Invitrogen Corporation has adopted the company’s MAUI® (MicroArray User Interface) Hybridization System as its hybridization system of choice for their microarray experiments. Specifically, the MAUI System will be used with Invitrogen’s new NCode miRNA profiling platform.

BioMicro’s successful hybridization platform, the MAUI System, will be used with Invitrogen’s NCode arrays to enhance miRNA research. Our aim is to provide a complete solution to ensure successful miRNA research for drug discovery and therapeutic applications.

“Preliminary data shows that using the MAUI System with the NCode arrays easily results in an impressive 10 fold gain in sensitivity compared to manual hybridization,” said Invitrogen’s Senior Scientist and NCode Product Manager, Christopher Adams. He adds, “We have already implemented the MAUI System into our NCode miRNA Analysis Service because we have seen such solid results.”

BioMicro System’s Business Development Manager, Kayla Holmes said, “BioMicro is pleased to be working with Invitrogen. By working with Invitrogen, the expertise and capabilities of both companies are united to provide an exponentially better solution for miRNA research. We believe this alliance further validates the MAUI System as a leader in the field of microarray hybridization.”
